PORTO Europe’s happiest city

In the far west lies Europe’s ‘Island of the Blessed’ – though it’s actually part of the mainland. With 86 points, it has the highest position in Europe on the Urban Joy Index. The Portuense give their city the highest ratings in almost all areas: 94% find Porto very attractive, 97% consider their city to be internationally well-regarded, 91% have positive feelings about the safety of their residences, the diversity of lifestyles and the fact that there’s always something new to discover in Porto.  Even in terms of mobility in the city – a fly in the ointment for many other cities – 91% of Porto’s happy residents are satisfied. Congratulations, Porto!
